IDF Spokesman: IDF Used ‘Precise Strike’ on Terrorists in UNRWA School, ‘Stopped a Ticking Time-Bomb’: On Thursday evening, the IDF released photos, names, and identifying information for nine of the Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists who were killed overnight in an IDF strike on the UNRWA school in Nuseirat where they were operating. In a Thursday evening press briefing, IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari stated that the strike was “precise” and “based on concrete intelligence, from multiple sources” and noted that it targeted terrorists hiding in a UN school. According to Hagari, the terrorists, some of whom took part in the October 7 attacks, “were planning and conducting attacks from inside classrooms of this UNRWA school” and were planning additional attacks, some imminent. He added that the IDF “stopped a ticking time-bomb.” Hagari said that after several days of aerial surveillance, the IDF carried out its strike only after intelligence showed that no women or children were inside the three classrooms where the terrorists were hiding.

IDF Continues Operations in Bureij, Deir al-Balah, Rafah Area, Kills Terrorists, Destroys Terrorist Infrastructures:

The IDF on Friday reported on fighting by the 98th Division in the eastern parts of Bureij and Deir al-Balah, where troops have killed dozens of terrorists, destroyed terrorist infrastructures, and found tunnel shafts. The Israeli Air Force, in coordination with the 98th Division, eliminated the head of a rocket-launching cell in addition to another terrorist who was firing at IDF troops. The 99th Division is continuing operations in central Gaza, where it is also destroying terrorist infrastructures and killing terrorists. Paratroopers joined the fighting in the area in the past day. In the Rafah area in southern Gaza, the 162nd Division is continuing operations, and in the past day, soldiers have found large quantities of weapons, including hand grenades, guns, and cartridges, as well as tunnel shafts. In addition, an Israeli Air Force fighter jet eliminated an armed man in a booby-trapped building.

IDF Carries out Counterterror Operation in Jenin: On Thursday evening, IDF soldiers from the Duvdevan special forces unit and the Haruv reconnaissance unit carried out a counterterrorism operation in Jenin in the West Bank with guidance from the Shin Bet. During the operation, the troops exchanged fire with armed men, killing or injuring terrorists and operatives who threw explosives. They arrested one man, who is suspected of involvement in terrorist activity. At the same time, Israeli Air Force combat helicopters carried out strikes in the area. The man arrested was turned over to the Shin Bet for interrogation. More than 4,150 wanted persons have been arrested in the West Bank since the start of the war, about 1,750 of them affiliated with Hamas.

Army Radio’s Military Correspondent Analyzes Israel’s Three Fronts: North, Gaza, and West Bank: On Thursday, Doron Kadosh, the military correspondent for Israel’s army radio, posted his analysis of the situation in Israel’s north, in Gaza, and in the West Bank. He states that in the north, Hezbollah’s drones are taking a heavy toll, noting that one soldier was killed and one seriously injured in a precision drone strike that took place nearly two miles from the border, which he says shows Hezbollah’s ability to collect intelligence on soldiers inside Israel, not just near the border, and also shows its ability to launch precision strikes. In Gaza, he says, a terrorist squad from Rafah infiltrated into Israeli territory under cover of fog and exchanged fire with IDF troops, even though an entire division with six brigades is operating in Rafah and the Gaza Division has been working for months to create a buffer zone to prevent such incidents. In the West Bank, says Kadosh, terrorists detonated a powerful car bomb around a half mile from an IDF checkpoint. In addition, the defense establishment has warned that a third intifada might break out because of the economic situation in the Palestinian Authority.
