IAF Strikes Hezbollah Targets After Ceasefire Monitoring Committee Is Informed of Threats, Which ‘Are Not Addressed’: Last night, Israeli Air Force fighter jets, with intelligence guidance from Aman military intelligence, destroyed several Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon. According to the IDF, the targets were attacked after the ceasefire monitoring committee was informed of the threats to IDF troops and Israeli civilians and the threats were not addressed. The targets struck included border crossings between Lebanon and Syria that are being used to deliver weapons to Hezbollah, as well as a military site and rocket launchers. The announcement adds that the IAF “is continuing to act to remove any threat to the state of Israel and will prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild … and will do so in accordance with the understandings of the ceasefire agreement.”

IDF Has Eliminated At Least 165 Terrorists in West Bank Operations Since Start of War: The IDF reported over the weekend that since the war began, at least 165 terrorists have been eliminated in some 110 airstrikes in Judea and Samaria as part of joint IDF-Shin Bet counterterrorism operations. The report notes that the terrorists repeatedly use civilian facilities such as hospitals, educational institutions, and mosques. In operations in Jenin on November 19 and in Tulkarem on December 25, the IDF identified three different mosques being used for terrorist purposes: the Jabriyat mosque and Khaled Ibn al-Walid mosque in Jenin, and the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque in Tulkarem. On November 19, terrorists inside the Jabriyat mosque and using the mosque for cover opened fire on IDF soldiers, and the next morning, soldiers searching the mosque found a shooting range and training area, along with firing positions and a large number of shell casings near the mosque’s windows, which were used the previous night. During that operation, an IAF drone also identified a large number of terrorists shooting at IDF soldiers under cover of the Khaled Ibn al-Walid mosque. During the Tulkarem operation, an IAF drone identified terrorists hurling explosive devices at soldiers from the roof of the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque.

Four Soldiers Killed Saturday in Gaza’s Beit Hanoun, IDF Finds More Than 30 IEDs There: On Sunday, Israeli news website Ynet reported on IDF operations in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, where four IDF soldiers were killed on Saturday. A total of 11 soldiers have been killed there in the past two weeks, and the Hamas battalion there has been engaging in guerilla warfare since the IDF began its latest operation. IDF troops have found more than 30 explosive devices in Beit Hanoun in the past two weeks, and three soldiers were killed recently in an explosion. The IDF is investigating whether that explosion was caused by explosives made from IDF bombs. The army’s mission in Beit Hanoun is to allow train travel to Sderot to resume without fear of anti-tank missile fire and also to protect Kibbutz Erez from attack.

COGAT: 23 Hospitals Operating in Gaza; 1,075 Patients and Escorts Traveled Abroad for Medical Care: On Monday, COGAT, the Israeli entity coordinating humanitarian aid for Gaza, reported that 23 hospitals are operating in the Gaza Strip, adding that it has worked with international partners to enable the establishment of 13 field hospitals since the war began. The hospitals are located in different parts of Gaza, though most are in the humanitarian area, where the majority of Gaza residents are living. COGAT reported Sunday on Israel’s work to facilitate the departure of Gaza Strip residents requiring medical care abroad, particularly children. So far, 1,075 patients and escorts have traveled through Israel to 13 other countries for medical care. COGAT notes that the process is subject to the consent of the destination country and a security evaluation, adding that the number of patients who can leave Gaza for medical treatment is dependent on the willingness of other countries to accept them and the capacity of international organizations. As for COGAT’s humanitarian aid efforts, yesterday 233 aid trucks entered Gaza carrying food, shelter equipment, medical equipment and supplies, and sanitation supplies. Five fuel tankers and six cooking gas tankers also entered the strip.
