Morgan Lorraine Viña

Adjunct Fellow


Morgan Lorraine Viña is an adjunct fellow with FDD’s International Organizations Program. Her research focuses on reforming international institutions, making them more effective and efficient.

Prior to FDD, Morgan served as Chief of Staff for International Security Affairs at the Department of Defense.

In 2017-2019, Morgan served as Chief of Staff and Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nikki R Haley. During her time at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, Morgan served as the key advisor to the Ambassador’s policy development and executive team and managed the Ambassador’s priorities on United Nations management, budget, and reform initiatives.

Before her work with Ambassador Haley, Morgan worked on Capitol Hill advising U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.

Morgan regularly contributes analysis to the media both in print and broadcast, including the New York Times, The Hill, Real Clear World, among others.

Morgan is a graduate of Sweet Briar College and holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics.
