Biography

Major Liane “Trixie” Zivitski is an active duty U.S. Air Force Intelligence Officer and Visiting Military Analyst at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ Center on Military and Political Power.

Major Zivitski enlisted in 1996 as a Chinese Cryptologic Linguist. In 2007 she received her commission through Officer Training School. As an Intelligence Officer, Maj Zivitski deployed to Mosul in 2009 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She was also an Information Integration Officer on board the RC-135 Rivet Joint (RJ) aircraft and deployed in 2011 and 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As a National Security Agency (NSA) Junior Officer Cryptologic Career Program graduate, she also served as the Deputy Operations Officer for Combating Proliferation and the Deputy Branch Chief for Collection Requirements and Operations Support. In support of the NSA and Central Command, Major Zivitski deployed to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar in 2015. She was also the Director of Operations, 497th Operations Support Squadron, Distributed Ground Station-1, at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. In this capacity, she directed all aspects of operations for 223 Airmen conducting signals intelligence, geospatial intelligence, and multi-source analysis and fusion in support of global operations.

Most recently, Major Zivitsky worked as a Strategic Policy Fellow in the Pentagon in support of the Air Force Secretary and Chief of Staff.
