Biography

Lilia Gaufberg serves as the associate director for digital content at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. She has a diverse background as a writer, copy editor, video creator, educator, and visual artist. Her published works — primarily featured in The Times of Israel — have focused on topics such as the events of October 7, 2023; the rise in antisemitism on American college campuses; UNRWA’s systematic indoctrination of children in Gaza; and Soviet-Jewish identity. Prior to her time at FDD, Lilia lived in Israel for seven years and served in the Israel Defense Forces’ Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) unit. She holds a Master of Arts in government with a specialization in diplomacy and conflict resolution from Israel’s Reichman University (formerly IDC Herzliya), as well as a Master of Arts in teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Clark University.
