Turkey is eager to play a central role in shaping Gaza’s future following the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. U.S. President Donald Trump publicly thanked his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for helping facilitate what he called a landmark agreement – one that halted the unrelenting bloodshed unleashed after the October 7 terrorist attacks and secured the long-awaited return of Israeli hostages.
