IDF Begins Counterterror Operation in Gaza City Targeting UNRWA Headquarters: The IDF on Monday announced that the army and the Shin Bet, operating under the 99th Division, began a counterterrorism operation in Gaza City which “targets the terrorist infrastructure, operatives, weapons and investigation and detention rooms within the @UNRWA headquarters.” The operation follows intelligence received about the presence there of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist infrastructures. The announcement notes that the IDF operated in the area previously, arresting and eliminating many Hamas fighters and destroying a large tunnel under the compound. The IDF alerted civilians at the start of the operation and will open a route for uninvolved civilians to leave the area.

IDF Eliminates Member of Hezbollah Rocket and Missile Unit in Overnight Strike: The IDF announced the death of Hezbollah operative Mustafa Hassan Salman in an overnight drone strike in the Qlaileh area in southern Lebanon. According to the announcement, Slaman served in the Hezbollah rocket and missile unit and participated in planning and carrying out terrorist activities. Hezbollah confirmed the death, bringing the total number of its operatives killed in the war to at least 362. In the past 24 hours, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for five attacks against Israel using anti-tank missiles, high-trajectory fire — including Grad rockets — and suicide drones. In the same period, the IDF struck Hezbollah infrastructures in the areas of Ayta Al-Shab, Naquoura, Maaroub, Houla, and Tallouseh, as well as a weapons depot in Qabrikha.

IDF Troops Kill More Than 30 Terror Operatives in Rafah; Dozens More Killed in Shejaiya: The IDF on Monday said that in the past day, troops from the 162nd Division, along with Israeli Air Force drones, killed more than 30 terrorists in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The troops also seized weapons and found tunnel shafts. In addition, IAF aircraft struck two sites, one in Gaza City, in the northern Gaza Strip, and the other in southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, where there were rockets ready to be launched. In Gaza City’s Shejaiya neighborhood, soldiers from the 98th Division killed dozens of Hamas fighters, on the ground and through airstrikes, who were firing anti-tank missiles and rockets. They also destroyed terrorist infrastructure. Overnight, IAF fighter jets and drones struck a large number of terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including a Hamas sniper.

IDF Eliminates Key Operative in Hezbollah’s Air Defense Unit, Hezbollah Launches Numerous Strikes on Israel: On Saturday, the IDF eliminated Meitham Mustafa Al-Atar in an airstrike near the village of Chaat in the Bekaa Valley. According to the IDF, Al-Atar was “a key operative” in Hezbollah’s air defense unit who had visited Iran a number of times and was involved in planning and executing “numerous terrorist attacks” on Israelis. The IDF added that his death “significantly harms” Hezbollah’s air defense unit. On Sunday, Hezbollah retaliated for the killing, launching Grad rockets at the lower Galilee, which it said were targeting a military base but which struck other areas, seriously wounding one man and setting off fires. In a later attack on Sunday, Hezbollah launched about 20 rockets toward Mount Meron, where an air traffic control base is located. In yet another attack, Hezbollah shot anti-tank guided missiles at an army post near Zar’it in northern Israel, wounding three: an IDF soldier, an Israeli civilian, and an American civilian, who was in serious condition. Also on Sunday, at least 10 rockets were launched at the city of Safed, located in the upper Galilee. According to the IDF, they landed in open areas.
