Lieutenant Colonel Rob Makros is a U.S. Air Force Officer currently serving as the National Defense Fellow at the Henry L. Stimson Center. Prior to this assignment, he commanded the 13th Bomb Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base, where he was responsible for the conventional and nuclear combat readiness of the men and women in one of only two operational B-2 stealth bomber squadrons in the Air Force. Rob is a career aviator who has flown both the F-15E and B-2 Stealth Bomber.  He deployed to the Middle East, twice as an F-15E pilot in support of OPERATION’S ENDURING FREEDOM and SOUTHERN WATCH and to the Pacific, twice as a B-2 pilot in support of the Continuous Bomber Presence mission. In addition to his operational experience, he served a staff tour as Chief, Aircraft Nuclear Strike, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike at United States Strategic Command.
