Biography

Omar Hossino serves as professional policy staff for the House Republican Study Committee (RSC), where he manages the RSC’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Task Force and wrote the RSC’s seminal foreign policy report The RSC National Security Strategy: Strengthening America and Countering Global Threat. He also regularly briefs over 100 members of Congress at the RSC’s weekly lunch on national security and foreign affairs issues and writes a legislative analysis of all national security and foreign affairs bills which come to the House floor. Prior to working at the RSC, Omar was a policy analyst for the House Foreign Affairs Committee where he was the lead Republican staffer covering Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan for former Chairman Ed Royce. Omar has a J.D. in law from Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law, a Master’s in International Affairs: U.S. Foreign Policy from American University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Radford University. He is also a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a Marshall Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, and was a 2018-2019 Penn-Kemble Fellow at the National Endowment for Democracy.
