Nicholas Polk

Nick Polk is a cybersecurity specialist in the Office of the Federal CIO, part of the Office of Management and Budget. He has worked on cybersecurity in a range of Federal government departments and agencies. Previously, Nick worked as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Department of Defense Deputy Chief Information Officer for Cybersecurity, focusing on the cybersecurity of Weapon Systems and Critical Infrastructure, as well as Special Assistant to the Deputy Homeland Security Advisor and Cybersecurity Coordinator on the National Security Council. Nick was also previously Country Director for Spain, Portugal, and NATO affairs in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. Prior to joining government service, Nick was an English Literature and English as a Second Language High School teacher at a network of second chance charter schools in Houston, Texas. He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has degrees from Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies in Russian Affairs and International Economics as well as The George Washington University in International Affairs and English Literature.
