Malcolm Warbrick

U.S. Army Texas National Guard


Major Malcolm A. Warbrick is a U.S. Army Officer currently serving as the Director of Government Affairs for the Texas National Guard. In that capacity, he is responsible for the legislative strategy and all policy issues with regard to the gubernatorial, state and federal delegations for the Texas Army and Air National Guard. He previously was a U.S. Army Congressional Fellow, working in the House of Representatives as a liaison to member offices and participating in numerous congressional delegations abroad, including multiple engagements in Afghanistan. This assignment culminated with a position as legislative assistant to Senator John Cornyn, advising him on national security and foreign policy issues. Prior to his work in government affairs, Malcolm served as an artillery officer with the 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, and deployed to the Diyala Province in Iraq. He was also a U.S. Army intelligence analyst specializing in counter-nuclear proliferation, with proficiency in Farsi. Malcolm earned his Master of Professional Studies in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Language and Education from the University of Central Florida. He is currently an adjunct professor at Austin Community College, where he teaches U.S. Government. (This bio is current to when the participant joined FDD’s National Security Network.)
