Katherine Nikas is an investigative counsel for Chairman Grassley with the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, where she manages the oversight portfolio for immigration and visa security issues. In that role, she investigates security challenges and tracks fraud trends relating to federal agencies with a national security function, including the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to her time on Capitol Hill, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John C. Gemmill of the Arizona Court of Appeals, and served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. Katherine holds a B.A. and J.D. from Arizona State University.
