Katherine Close serves as Foreign Policy Advisor for Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-21). She advises the Congresswoman on her Appropriations Committee work, specifically her role on the State and Foreign Operations Subcommittee. She also serves as Democratic Staff Director of the bipartisan Women, Peace, and Security Caucus, which Congresswoman Frankel co-chairs with Congressman Mike Waltz. Her portfolio includes foreign affairs, defense and homeland security. Katherine graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Political Science and Peace, War, and Defense. She holds a M.A. in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security from American University.
