Jon Fay is the Executive Officer with the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels. As the Executive Officer, he is responsible for carrying out the mission of the squadron as a whole, to include personnel performance, training, welfare and safety, while promoting squadron policy, efficiency, and guidance. Jon has built a breadth of experience with various command, deployed, and staff assignments. Prior tours include service as a Special Assistant within the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs supporting congressional engagements for defense-wide Science & Technology programs, as well as the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Prior to this assignment, he served as a Defense Fellow on Capitol Hill and as an Action Officer at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. A career Naval Flight Officer with more than 3,000 flight hours and 168 carrier-arrested landings, he has deployed globally with Sea Control and Maritime Patrol squadrons in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Enduring Freedom-Horn of Africa. Jon earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a graduate of the Air Command and Staff College and holds multiple advanced policy, defense acquisition workforce, and warfare certifications.
