Biography

John Hardie serves as deputy director of the Russia Program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. His work focuses on the Russian military threat and U.S. policy related to Russia and Europe. His byline has appeared in publications including The Wall Street JournalForeign PolicyDefense News, Defense One, Breaking Defense, and The Hill. John is also a regular contributor to FDD’s Long War Journal, where he writes on the Russian Armed Forces, the Russian defense-industrial base, and the war in Ukraine. John holds an M.A. in security studies from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia.
