Derek Bernsen is the Deputy Director of U.S. Operations at an L3Harris business unit that develops cybersecurity products. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Cyber Warfare Engineering Officer from 2013-2021 on active duty and has since transitioned to the reserves. He is also on the programming committee of the No Starch Press Foundation, helping to promote the hacker community. Derek earned a M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and a B.S. in Computer Science from The Citadel.
