Ben Cichorz

Ben Cichorz is a U.S. Army Officer, serving in the Army Senate Liaison Office. He is a former Defense Fellow for Senator Joe Manchin III (WV). MAJ Cichorz was commissioned from the Virginia National Guard OCS in 2003. His first assignment was with the 3647th Maintenance Company in the Virginia National Guard, where he served as Platoon leader and Detachment Commander. In 2005, he was transferred to the 2-224 Aviation Battalion where he served as a Platoon Leader for the Battalion’s Forward Support Company (FSC) when the unit deployed to Iraq.  In 2007, he assumed command of the 2-224 Aviation’s FSC and maintained command until he was identified to serve at National Guard Bureau (NGB) in 2009. While assigned to NGB, he held various positions that focused on national policy regarding equipment maintenance, reset, Officer Assignments and resource management. Ben was assigned as an executive officer responsible for supporting the ARNG Director’s three General Officer Special Assistants. His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Prior to commissioning, he was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and the Virginia National Guard. Ben has an undergraduate degree from American Military University and graduate degree from George Washington University.
