Biography
Aaron Gaskins has dedicated 20 years to serving in various roles across the Department of Defense (DOD), with the last 15 years focused on the defense acquisition community. His career includes positions as an engineering technician, a Marine Corps lead systems engineer, and a Department of the Navy contracting officer technical representative, culminating in his current role as a cyber acquisition analyst for the assistant secretary of defense for cyber policy and the Office of the Principal Cyber Advisor. Throughout his career, Mr. Gaskins has successfully managed and supervised diverse teams across requirement management, engineering, logistics, business management, concept development, test and evaluation, contracting, and program management, ensuring critical capabilities are delivered to the warfighter. Additionally, he serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve as an aerospace maintenance duty officer, with his most recent active duty as the air wing maintenance officer at Naval Air Facility Washington for executive transportation. Mr. Gaskins holds a Master of Arts degree in defense and strategic studies from the Naval War College and a Bachelor of Science in general engineering and technology from Old Dominion University. He is certified as a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Level III in engineering, Level II in information technology, and Level I in production quality management. His contributions to the field have been recognized with various awards, including the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy/Marine Corps Commendation and Achievement Medals.
