Wilson Shirley

Wilson Shirley is a vice president of global affairs at Goldman Sachs. Previously, he was a manager at Schmidt Futures, a venture facility for public benefit founded by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and a media fellow at the Hudson Institute’s China Center. Mr. Shirley served as a speechwriter to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and was based in the State Department’s Office of Policy Planning. Prior to that experience, he was the speechwriter for U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) and worked at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI). He is on the board of the Afghan Future Fund and is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Raised in Kentucky, he graduated from Northwestern University and currently resides in New York City.
