Biography

Captain Shaun Lynch is a U.S. Navy officer and career defense acquisition and security cooperation professional currently serving as the Deputy Director of a science and technology portfolio under the Office of Naval Research. As an SH-60B helicopter pilot he was assigned to Atsugi, Japan, where he deployed in support of operations in Iraq and the Philippines. He also spent a year deployed to Afghanistan aboard an airborne reconnaissance aircraft in support of special operations forces conducting counter-terrorism operations. His acquisition assignments include multiple tours of duty at Navy test squadrons and program offices, including the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office. His security cooperation assignments include tours at the Navy International Programs Office and the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. He has also served as the Defense Fellow for Congresswoman Kay Granger of Texas. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Naval Postgraduate School, and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.
