Ryan T. Typolt is an Airpower Strategist and Director of Staff for Headquarters Air Force Checkmate. He oversees strategy development and support activities from a team of active duty, total force, civilian, and contractors to provide military advice and novel approaches for the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force’s most challenging problem sets. He creates globally-oriented, cross-functional concepts to implement the National Defense Strategy and support Combined and Joint operations. He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Wyoming and a distinguished graduate of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Air University’s Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in structural engineering, a Master of Aeronautical Science in Aviation Safety Systems, a Master of Military Operational Art and Science, and a Master of Strategic Studies with Grand Strategy concentration. He has supported numerous named operations and exercises in AETC, PACAF, and ACC. Lieutenant Colonel Typolt is an evaluator pilot with over 3800 hours in the T-37, T-38A/C, F-15C/D, and MQ-9 aircraft, including 1800 hours in OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
