Miriam Krieger

Miriam Krieger is an Air Force fighter pilot pursuing a doctoral degree at Georgetown University. She is one of only two officers selected for the 2012 CSAF Captains Prestigious PhD Program, and is pursuing a PhD in International Relations with an emphasis on Security Studies. Her research interests include military diplomacy as a tool of foreign policy, military strategic culture, and unconventional deterrence theory. Miriam, a distinguished graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and two Masters Degrees in London as a George C. Marshall Scholar: a Master of Arts in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and a Master of Science in Conflict, Security and Development from the War Department at King’s College London. She has worked with the International Institute of Strategic Studies and the U.S. Department of State Regional Security and Arms Transfer Department. She attended flight training at Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training, and was selected for F-16 training. Miriam flew F-16s as part of the Total Force Integration initiative where she advanced to four-ship flight lead, deployed to the Korean Peninsula, and performed duties as Chief of Scheduling and Aircrew Flight Equipment Officer.
