Biography
Melanie Kandel is the director of development operations at FDD. With nearly 30 years of experience in donor relations, stewardship, fundraising, board development, event management, marketing, economic development, and communications, Melanie has a proven track record of creating, developing, and managing organizational structures and partnerships to ensure growth, build relationships, and deepen connections.
Prior to FDD, she served as director of board relations and marketing at the Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science & Technology (PIC MC) at Montgomery College, playing a pivotal role in promoting economic development. Prior to that role, she was the director of donor relations for the Montgomery College Foundation, developing and launching a Donor Relation Department during a 30-million-dollar capital campaign. Prior to Montgomery College, Melanie served as the associate director of donor relations at Georgetown University, where she was selected to launch a successful donor relations and stewardship department during a 1-billion-dollar capital campaign. She is a graduate of Clark University in Massachusetts and also studied at Tel Aviv University.
