Megan Eckstein

Megan Eckstein is a strategic communications action officer with Strategic Insight, supporting the U.S. Navy. She spent 15 years as a reporter covering the Navy and Marine Corps, most recently as the naval warfare reporter for Defense News. She began covering budgets and acquisition programs in 2011 for Inside the Navy and then Defense Daily. She worked for USNI News from 2015 to 2021 as a reporter and editor, expanding her coverage to include naval operations, concepts, and international navies. Her reporting took her throughout Europe and into the Middle East (and to dozens of ships!). Prior to covering the Navy, Megan covered local military and veterans’ issues for the Frederick (Md.) New-Post. She is a 2009 graduate of the University of Maryland.
