Major Stephanie Mafrici is an active duty US Marine Corps officer and a visiting military analyst at FDD’s Center on Military and Political Power. She specializes in Marine Corps communications and has been selected to participate in the Secretary of Defense Strategic Thinkers’ Program at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. In her most recent assignment as squadron executive officer, she served as second in command of over 350 Marines. Previously, she served as squadron operations officer, planning over 30 military operations and exercises where the squadron provided tactical communications support to units throughout the Indo-Pacific. As a company grade officer, she served as company commander and platoon commander, and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. She spent four years stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Stephanie earned a Masters of Military Science from US Marine Corps Command and Staff College, a Masters in Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus, and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
