Biography

Lawrence Muscant serves as senior vice president at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington, DC based, nonpartisan research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy. FDD’s primary mission is to disrupt and do damage to the regimes, ideologies, and terrorists that most threaten America and our allies.

As a Middle East analyst and speechwriter, Lawrence lectures often on Iran, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Middle East history, and the intersection between economics and national security. Through his work with FDD, Lawrence has spent significant time in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates. Previously, Lawrence served as executive director at The David Project, a research and educational organization in Boston focused on Israel and the Middle East, where he also taught the Arab-Israeli conflict course at University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

Lawrence received his BA in Political Science from Concordia University, also graduating from its School of Community and Public Affairs. He received his MA in Political Science from Carleton University, where his focus was international relations theory and the Middle East. Lawrence’s PhD research at Carleton University focused on American foreign policy in the Middle East. Lawrence has also studied extensively at the New York Institute of Finance and earned his designations from the Corporate Finance Institute.

Lawrence also currently serves as Senior Advisor to Omnia Family Wealth, where advises the firm and its clients on global political and financial challenges that can have an impact on investments.
