Lieutenant Commander Kristina M. Stoner is a U.S. Navy Officer currently serving in the Navy’s Office of Legislative Affairs’ Strategy Assessment Division. Most recently, Kristina served as a Navy Legislative Affairs Fellow in office of Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). For her first and second division officer tours, she served onboard USS CHOSIN (CG 65) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. For her first department head tour, she was the Chief Engineer onboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73) in San Diego, CA. For her second department head tour, she worked as the plankowner Maintenance and Material Officer at Destroyer Squadron 60 detachment Rota, Spain. On shore duty, Kristina worked as an Admissions Counselor at the United States Naval Academy’s Candidate Guidance Office and as the Women’s Glee Club Officer Representative. She also served for two years as the Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Association of Naval Services Officers (ANSO). Kristina graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemistry and was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer. She also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the College of William & Mary in 2011. Kristina’s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal and Naval Achievement Medal.
