Biography
Jamil Jaffer serves on the board of advisors for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ (FDD’s) Center for Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI).
Jamil is the founder of the National Security Institute at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where he also serves as an adjunct professor of law and director of the National Security Law & Policy Program. He is also affiliated with Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation and previously served as a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution from 2016 to 2019. Jamil previously served in a variety of federal government and private sector roles: on the Hill, he was chief counsel and senior advisor for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee under Chairman Bob Corker (R-TN) and senior counsel to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence under Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI). In the White House, Jamil was an associate counsel to President George W. Bush. He is currently a venture partner with Paladin Capital Group.
