James B. Skinner

James B. Skinner is senior vice president at American Global Strategies (AGS), an international strategic advisory firm. Before joining AGS, James served on the White House National Security Council as special assistant to the U.S. National Security Advisor from 2019-2021. Earlier, James was a presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Defense as a policy advisor in the Office of Counternarcotics and Global Threats. He was concurrently appointed to the Iran Finance Fusion Cell and Counterterrorism Interagency Finance Cell at the Pentagon. James previously held positions as advisor to the White House liaison and defense fellow in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He is a 2023 recipient of the NextGen Leadership Award for Policy & Public Service. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, cum laude, from the University of Missouri.
