Biography
Gregory Smith is Vice President of American Global Strategies, a boutique strategic advisory firm founded by former National Security Advisor Robert C. O’Brien and former National Security Council Chief of Staff Alexander Gray. Gregory previously served in The White House as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Political Affairs for Policy and Personnel from 2019-2021. In 2020, he was appointed by the President to serve as the U.S. Commissioner to the Upper Colorado River Commission. Prior to The White House, he worked for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), America’s pro-Israel lobby. At AIPAC, Gregory was a Regional Political Director, based in Los Angeles, California, where he cultivated political relationships with elected officials, candidates and supporters across California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii. He later worked in Washington, D.C., as Assistant Director of Policy and Government Affairs, managing AIPAC’s defense portfolio on Capitol Hill. He provided regular policy briefings on missile defense, counter-tunnel programs, and counter-UAS cooperation to over 60 Members of Congress.
