Biography
Dan Wachtler serves on the board of advisors for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies’ (FDD’s) Center for Cyber and Technology Innovation (CCTI).
Dan is an accomplished entrepreneur with over 25 years of leadership experience across cybersecurity, physical security, financial crime compliance, and artificial intelligence (AI). He is currently co-founder and CEO of a startup, Vigilis, Inc., which is bringing integrated AI capabilities to the physical security industry.
Previously, Dan was CEO at IPSA International and DarkLight, and president at root9B Holdings (a NASDAQ-listed firm now owned by Deloitte). IPSA was an international financial crime compliance company focusing on money laundering and terror financing issues until its sale to root9B in 2015. DarkLight and root9B both focused on cybersecurity solutions to commercial and government buyers. DarkLight was sold in May 2025.
