Biography

Major Chris Thackaberry is a U.S. Air Force Officer currently serving in a joint staff assignment as a Legislative Liaison for United States Transportation Command. Prior to his current assignment he served as a Department of Defense Legislative Fellow working on Capitol Hill as a personal staffer for a member of the House of Representatives. Chris’s primary job is a mobility instructor and evaluator pilot where he has amassed 3,400 flying hours in the C-17 and MC-12, including over 1,100 combat hours. He has completed multiple deployments in direct support of combat operations in Southeast Asia. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, a Master’s of Science in Public Administration from Central Michigan University and a Graduate Certificate in Legislative Studies from the Government Affairs Institute, Georgetown University. He is also a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officer School and a graduate of Air Command and Staff College. (This bio is current to when the participant joined FDD’s National Security Network.)
