Catherine Long

Catherine Long is serving in the Pentagon as flag aide to the Chief of Naval Operations in the U.S. Navy. As a surface warfare officer, she has served on multiple guided-missile destroyers with deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and Western Pacific Ocean. During her most recent at-sea assignment, she served as flag secretary to Commander, Carrier Strike Group ONE and completed a Western Pacific deployment while embarked on USS Carl Vinson. Ashore, she served as a fellow with the OPNAV N73 Strategic Warfighting Innovation Cell. Catherine earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in French from the U.S. Naval Academy, as well as a Master’s Degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School. As a Secretary of Defense Strategic Thinkers Program fellow, she also earned a Master of International Public Policy Degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
