Anthony Musa

Anthony Musa is a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Department of State with experience in international economics, sanctions policy, Russia, and Central Asia. Currently covering regional economics and the Kazakhstan desk at the Office of Central Asian Affairs at the Department of State, he specializes in U.S.-Central Asia trade relations, sanctions, and multilateral engagement through the C5+1 forum. His prior experience was on sanctions related to Iran, terrorism, North Korea, and Russia at the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Alongside his professional achievements, he actively supports the LGBTQIA+ and Latino communities through board memberships and leadership roles in organizations like Capital Pride Alliance as the vice president and the DC Latino Caucus. Anthony earned an M.A. from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a B.S. from Arizona State University. He is completing an M.A. from the National Intelligence University and is taking courses in Jewish studies from Yeshiva University.
