Biography
Alicia Chavy is a vice president at Beacon Global Strategies, where she advises leading defense and technology innovators on emerging technologies, including AI and autonomy, quantum innovation, cyber capabilities, and defense cloud and software modernization, and helps navigate policy, budget, and acquisition processes across the national security enterprise. She previously served at the U.S. State Department’s Conflict and Stability Operations Bureau, at CSIS supporting security sector assistance and stability operations reforms, and as a research assistant to Dr. Bruce Hoffman at Georgetown’s Center for Security Studies. A non-resident scholar with the Middle East Institute’s Strategic Technologies and Cybersecurity Program, she examines the geopolitical and security implications of advanced technologies, drawing on earlier roles at Global Risk Insights and Kroll Associates, where she led high-stakes corporate investigations and authored political risk analysis spanning the Middle East, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Alicia began her career across think tanks and public organizations, including PILPG, the Asia Group, Hudson Institute, and American Foreign Policy Group, focusing on terrorism, cybersecurity, and conflict stabilization. She serves on the board of the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum and holds both a B.S. in foreign service and an M.A. in security studies from Georgetown University.
