Biography
Alexandra Seymour serves as the staff director for the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection with the House Homeland Security Committee. In this role, she leads all oversight activities of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) as well as legislation and policy on cybersecurity and infrastructure protection issues. She is also the president and co-founder of the Congressional Staff Association on Artificial Intelligence (CSA.ai), which launched in October 2024. Previously, she was a professional staff member for the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, where she led policy work on artificial intelligence (AI), CHIPS and Science Act implementation, quantum, and other science issues. Seymour came to Capitol Hill for her expertise in technology policy, which she developed through her research with the Technology and National Security program at the Center for a New American Security and as chief of staff at CalypsoAI, an AI security startup. Prior to her experience in the private sector, Seymour served in several roles in the Department of Defense and on the National Security Council staff. Her analysis and commentary have appeared in outlets such as the Financial Times, War on the Rocks, BBC News, CBS News, USA Today, NewsNation, The Hill, DefenseScoop, The Diplomat, RealClearPolicy, and Voice of America. Originally from New Jersey, Seymour holds a B.A. in politics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
