FDD ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL MEDIA FELLOWS PROGRAM CLASS

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 1, 2022 – The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) announced its inaugural class of 2022 Media Fellows. The nonpartisan group is comprised of mid-career journalists, editors, broadcasters, academics, executive branch officials, members of the military, Pentagon correspondents, and congressional reporters. Upon completion of the program, Media Fellows will join FDD’s National Security Alumni Network of more than 500 mid-career practitioners.

FDD’s Media Fellows Program provides educational programing and professional development opportunities to help media professionals gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between media, strategic communications, public diplomacy, misinformation, disinformation, and national security.

The Media Fellows Program is part of FDD’s newly launched Barish Center for Media Integrity. In addition to providing skill-building opportunities and access to leading national security professionals for media fellows, the Center also addresses the national security threats posed by misinformation campaigns and influence operations waged by foreign adversaries against the United States and allied democracies.

“It is with great pride that I welcome this exceptional group of media professionals into our inaugural FDD Media Fellows Program and National Security Network,” said FDD’s Founder and President Clifford D. May. “Having started my career as a reporter and foreign correspondent, I am particularly heartened to see in this group the next generation of committed, fact-seeking national security media professionals. I’m hopeful this new program will prove to be an educational and fruitful experience for these practitioners as they purse and publish the truth.”
