Kerry Fleeced, but Will Democrats Be Mugged By Reality?

Critics of the Iran deal seem amazed at the administration’s contempt for critics of the deal and the left’s refusal to consider dozens of fundamental flaws in the deal. They shouldn’t be. The only way one would make a deal in the first place so riddled with preposterous provisions is if you had deluded yourself into thinking the Iranians are trustworthy and/or that no one on the planet could have gotten a better deal. And that’s essentially what Secretary of State John Kerry insisted yesterday in testimony that no doubt horrified serious Democrats.

“The Obama administration is letting Iran sit on the Joint Commission where it will have access to the intelligence which is used to claim that it is still engaging in nuclear mendacity,” observed sanctions expert Mark Dubowitz. “The administration is also committing the international community to help train Iran on how to defend against sabotage to their nuclear facilities. Now we are relying on Iran to send the samples of their nuclear mendacity.” How did they agree to this? Dubowitz says, “The administration is so dedicated to transforming Iran from nuclear pariah to partner that it has decided to put the criminal on the detective squad, train him in how to defend his criminal enterprise against the police, and put him in charge of collecting and turning over the forensic evidence from the crime scene.”
