Australian Parliament Briefed on Chinese Organ Harvesting

The controversy over organ harvesting in China is back in the news with a group of experts visiting Australia's to brief MPs and senators.

China insists it is working hard to build a national voluntary organ donation system, but the experts warn that anyone contemplating going to China for a transplant will probably receive an organ from someone who's been killed for it.

When the scandal first came to light, claims centred on Falun Gong practitioners, but now there are further allegations that political prisoners from other minorities, notably Tibetans and Uighurs are also being targeted.

One of the delegation visiting Australia is Ethan Gutmann, a journalist who exposed the situation in Xinjiang.
