Rebel Hold on Libya in Doubt as Fighting Rages On

“One has to wonder how all this is going to end and whether there is a transitional government that could come in to place right now and command respect and govern efficiently,”  Dr. Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of research for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told CBN News.

“I'm not sure that that's something that's terribly easy to accomplish, and I think there's a lot of reason to be concerned at this moment,” he said. …

“Quite frankly I think there's still a tug of war going on between the fundamentalists — those (who) would seek to put in place an Islamist order — and those who want democracy,” Schanzer said. So you're seeing it in Tunisia, you're seeing it in Egypt, and I have a feeling you're going to see it to a certain extent in Libya”
