Panel on Democracy Progress in the Middle East

FDD Senior Fellow Walid Phares comments on the prospects of Middle Eastern democracy, “Democracy is making progress as long as civil societies are willing to move forward. The US assumed the responsibility of helping the peoples of Afghanistan and Iraq to build their democratic structures as a result of fighting Terrorism, but it will be meeting other civil societies such as in Lebanon and Egypt, mid way, as they show their willingness.”
