Event Description

FDD was pleased to host Dr. Uzi Rubin for a discussion on how the rapidly evolving Middle East poses new missile defense challenges. Dr. Rubin detailed his concerns about Iran’s nuclear and missile development; the challenges posed by new political forces and factions in Egypt gaining control of substantial numbers of missiles; and what impact the devolving situation in Syria could have on that country’s missile arsenal.

Dr. Uzi Rubin is president of Rubincon Ltd, a defense consulting firm, and the founding director of the Israeli Missile Defense Organization in the Israeli Ministry of Defense, where from 1991-1999 he oversaw the Arrow missile defense program. From 1999-2001 he was the Senior Director for Proliferation and Technology in the Israel National Security Council.
