Israel has defeated Hezbollah, conclusively and undeniably, yet the group is far from destroyed. The proof: the massive turnout for Hassan Nasrallah’s funeral on Sunday, demonstrating overwhelming support for Hezbollah from not only the party’s historic base, the Shi’ites, but also from other groups. The organizers, in flowery language, insisted the event was about the people’s participation: to express grief but, more importantly, as a domestic show of force.
