IDF Operating in West Bank’s Qabatiya and Nur Shams, Eliminating Terrorists, Destroying Explosive Devices: The IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet are continuing West Bank operations, and since yesterday have been conducting raids in Qabatiya and Nur Shams. An airstrike yesterday morning eliminated two terrorists who shot at troops and threw explosive devices at them. Israeli troop located weapons, destroyed a large number of explosives devices buried under roads and a laboratory for producing them, and arrested suspects. In Qabatiya yesterday, after a vehicle accelerated toward soldiers and struck them, they opened fire, wounding two men inside, including Majdi Hamza Ahmed Shakira, who was wanted for terrorist activity in Jenin. Two IDF soldiers were wounded in the attack and received treatment at the scene.
IDF Operation in Jabalya: 55,000 Civilians Evacuated, 700 Terrorists Have Surrendered: Times of Israel military correspondent Emanuel Fabian reports that most of the population of Jabalya in northern Gaza has been evacuated, amidst the IDF’s offensive in the area and in towns north of Gaza City. The IDF says that more than 55,000 of the 60,000 civilians estimated to have been in Jabalya prior to the current operation have been evacuated, despite attempts by Hamas to force them to remain as human shields. Most have moved to Gaza City, south of Jabalya, and several dozen have gone to the humanitarian zone in southern Gaza. The evacuation is intended to enable the IDF to operate without endangering civilians. According to the military, 700 members of Hamas and other terrorist groups surrendered during the evacuation, including dozens who took part in the October 7 attack, and they are providing helpful intelligence. Towns in northern Gaza are now cut off from Gaza City to prevent Hamas members from escaping or bringing in additional operatives. The IDF says it has found 200 booby-trapped homes during the operation. This is the army’s fourth incursion into Jabalya since the war began.
IAF Strikes Dozens of Targets in Lebanon and Gaza, Eliminates Hezbollah Battalion Commander: In the past day, the Israeli Air Force has struck dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and Hamas targets in Gaza, including terrorist squads, launchers, military buildings, and weapons depots. In Lebanon, IAF fighter jets, guided by the 91st Division, eliminated Hasin Abdul Halim Harb, a Hezbollah battalion commander in the Khiam sector, who the IAF says promoted and executed many attacks on communities in the Galilee, particularly in Metullah. Troops from the 36th Division directed a number of airstrikes in southern Lebanon in the past day, which killed Hezbollah operatives who launched rockets yesterday at northern Israel as well as other terrorists in the area. In Jabalya in northern Gaza, soldiers from the 162nd Division directed several airstrikes that killed armed men intending to attack IDF troops.
COGAT: Northern Gaza Polio Vaccination Ends; 206 Humanitarian Aid Trucks Entered Gaza Tuesday: On Tuesday, COGAT, the Israeli entity coordinating humanitarian aid for Gaza, announced that the second round of the polio vaccination campaign in northern Gaza ended Monday. More than 88 percent of children in the area were vaccinated, and medical facilities have additional vaccine doses to enable more vaccinations. COGAT published humanitarian aid updates on Wednesday, stating that 206 aid trucks from Israel, Egypt, and Jordan entered Gaza on Tuesday, 158 through the Kerem Shalom crossing and 48 through the Erez West crossing, with medications, vaccines, and food, as well as winter supplies and shelter equipment. Also yesterday, international organizations collected the contents of 77 trucks from the Gaza side of Kerem Shalom, leaving some 630 truckloads of aid still awaiting collection. In addition, seven fuel tankers and six cooking gas tankers entered Gaza yesterday.
