Hezbollah Publishes Reconnaissance Drone Video of Sites in Northern Israel, Says More Videos Forthcoming: On Tuesday, Hezbollah published a reconnaissance drone video taken over northern Israel, which shows Haifa’s military and civilian port, Haifa airport, parts of the Krayot cities in the Haifa area, and a complex belonging to defense technology company Rafael. In the video, Hezbollah identified potential targets. According to an analysis by the Alma Research and Education Center, the video seems to have been filmed between early April and mid-June, and while Hezbollah wishes to give the impression that it was filmed during one sortie, it may have been filmed during several, one in the previous 72 hours. The analysis states that Hezbollah is attempting to sow fear among Israelis and presumably wishes to show Israeli decision-makers that it is monitoring sensitive sites and could strike them if war broke out. Alma also notes that Hezbollah plans to publish additional videos, which the group claims will contain footage of locations deeper inside Israel.

IDF Chief of Staff: Military Is at ‘A Very High Level of Readiness’: On Wednesday, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, during a visit to an air defense battery in northern Israel, stated: “Today we targeted several Hezbollah terrorists, and yesterday Hezbollah released a video showcasing a capability that we knew about … We of course have infinitely greater capabilities, of which I think the enemy is only familiar with few … and will confront them at the right time.” On Wednesday evening, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant held a situation assessment on Lebanon with Halevi, Northern Command head Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, Israel Air Force commander Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar, and other officers. Gallant stated that the generals should “be fully prepared for all possibilities,” adding: “We have an obligation to change the situation in the north and return the citizens safely to their homes.” Halevi commented that the military is “today at a very high level of readiness.”

Hassan Nasrallah: Storming the Galilee an Option if Confrontation Develops: Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech on Wednesday for a ceremony commemorating senior Hezbollah commander Sami Taleb Abdullah, who was killed last week in an Israeli airstrike, spoke of the possibility of a “major war,” stating that “storming the Galilee is an option that remains on the table if the confrontation develops.” According to Nasrallah, “There is no doubt that the loss of Abu Taleb is significant, but we console ourselves that he died as a martyr and achieved the highest aspirations.” He added: “We are more determined [than ever] to continue the battle against Israel.” The Hezbollah leader also spoke about reconnaissance drone footage released by his group on Tuesday, saying: “We have a significantly large amount of information, and what we published yesterday was only a few minutes from many hours filmed over Haifa … Our drones provide us with important information to help us strike important targets in Israel.”

IDF Drone Strike Kills Hamas Nukhba Force Commander Who Participated in October 7 Attacks: The IDF on Thursday announced the death of Ahmed Hassan Salameh a-Swarkeh in a drone strike in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza. The IDF says that a-Swarkeh, a Hamas Nukhba Force commander who took part in the October 7 attacks, also led and directed sniper attacks in the Beit Hanoun area and took part in terror activity against IDF forces. After lengthy surveillance, troops from the 414th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit identified him. According to the IDF, before launching the drone strike that killed him, it took actions to avoid harming civilians, none of whom were injured. The announcement includes footage of the drone strike.
