FDD Mourns the Loss of Newton D. Becker

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Newt Becker, a great mentor, supporter and friend of The Foundation for Defense of Democracies. We express our deepest condolences to Rochelle, David and to his entire family. Newt, an important and valued FDD board member for 7 years, was a great thinker and strategist who contributed ideas, passion and inspiration to all of us at FDD.

While Newt’s passing is a loss to FDD and to all the causes and communities to which he contributed so greatly, his legacy of commitment and creative philanthropy endures and the projects he created and nurtured will be a living testament to him.  Even as we mourn, we celebrate Newt's full and meaningful life and commit to carrying on his work: the fight against the enemies of freedom.
