Harry Reid: Offshore Drilling is “snake oil” and “quackery”
Quite a convention speech from the majority leader. [H/t John McCormack at the Standard.] I love how the Democrats keep selectively citing their new favorite oil man, T. Boone Pickens. Reid takes pains to note that 'T. Boone Pickens said it right: 'We can't drill our way out of this crisis.'' But that is because the problem — diminishing supplies and heightening demand — is bigger than can be cured by drilling; it is not remotely a claim that drilling is not a big part of a comprehensive solution. That's why Pickens also says we have to 'drill, drill, drill.' I wonder if Reid would say we shouldn't have a guest-worker program because we can't register our way out of the illegal immigration crisis.
